A handmade compass pendant necklace made with a Francis Barker button compass. I have made a bezel setting of oxidized sterling silver with 18 karat yellow gold accents.
On the back of the pendant I have hand stamped in tiny little letters words of inspiration. This one is stamped TRUE.
A beautiful and functional compass made to military specifications. I love these compasses!
Oxidized sterling silver that has been brushed with 18 karat accents that are “pinned” – so there is some movement.
The FB 1605 compass measures 15.2 mm round and 5.4 mm thick. The setting I have made for it extends a bit farther out than that with eight points.
The compass is not waterproof – it will allow water in. This does not effect the function of the compass and it will evaporate out. It can leave staining and rust though – so best not to get it wet. The compasses are made for function, not for jewelry, so this happens!
This pendant has a sterling silver chain that is 22″ long with a sterling lobster clasp. All of the links soldered and secure.
